Baker Tilly achieves perfect score on the 2022 Corporate Equality Index

The Human Rights Campaign awarded Baker Tilly 100 points out of 100 on the 2022 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), an industry-standard measure created to evaluate corporate policies, practices and benefits that support LGBTQ+ team members.

Over half of Fortune 500 companies have official CEI ratings based on submitted surveys, with an average rating of 76 out of 100. “This rating reflects DIBS in action — concerted, targeted efforts to create an ever more inclusive environment at Baker Tilly,” said Shane Lloyd, Head of Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging. “Our work over the last year, from launching our Warmline to introducing our gender transition policy, has shaped who we are as a firm today.”

How Baker Tilly supports LGBTQ+ team members

Here are some of our policies and programs that contributed to this recognition:

• Equality in benefits between same- and different-sex spouses and domestic partners, including adoption benefits, foster care assistance, and infertility treatment and coverage
• Health insurance coverage for medically necessary services for transgender people

• Internal non-discrimination policy and giving non-discrimination policy for the Baker Tilly Foundation
• Gender transition policy with accompanying guides for the transitioning team members, other team members, coaches, People Solutions representatives and team leaders
• Recruiting at LGBTQ+-specific organizations

PRIDE network makes it happen

With team members taking the lead on inclusion and belonging, our PRIDE Team Member Network has marked 2022 as the year of intersectionality, planning activities for learning and discussion.

Most recently, PRIDE hosted Trans and Non-binary 101, a webinar to build knowledge and encourage conversation in celebration of International Trans Day of Visibility, celebrated March 31.
