Daniel Altschul, a principal with Baker Tilly, joined the firm in 2016. He has more than 20 years of public accounting experience supporting clients in the financial services industry. In addition to providing audit services, Danny consults on fund structuring and regulatory issues across a wide range of asset types, internal controls and other business matters. He also serves as a leader in Baker Tilly’s financial services practice group, setting and implementing strategies for growth and developing the team.
- Specializes in alternative asset management clientele, focusing on domestic investment partnerships, offshore funds, hedge and private equity funds with various investment strategies, and GIPS compliant engagements
- Extensive knowledge of the accounting and regulatory aspects of investment strategies across various asset types, including equities, bonds, debt, derivatives and private investments
- Consults on a wide range of fund structures, including master-feeder structures, mutli-tiered partnership structures, managed account platforms, strategic investor relationships and seed arrangements
- Confers with all levels of client personnel (including investment managers, analysts, prime brokers, and third-party administrators) regarding accounting, business and tax matters
- Responsible for the preparation and issuance of financial statements and special reports
