Brian Simpson is a tax principal and corporate income tax practice leader.
Brian currently leads the corporate income tax practice of Baker Tilly’s Dallas office. He also leads the firms accounting for income tax practice. His areas of responsibility include accounting for income taxes (ASC 740), tax issues related to accounting for share based payments (FAS 123R), corporate tax compliance and planning, accounting period and methods issues, and audit representation in income tax audits. He also has extensive experience assisting clients in structuring and planning transactions, as well as mergers and acquisitions. Brian works with closely held entities as well as publicly traded companies
- Experience with large corporate compliance and consulting, large partnership compliance and consulting, IRS representation, accounting method change implementations, and the management of multiple clients in all aspects of federal, state/local and international compliance
- Extensive experience assisting clients with accounting standards and teaching multiple training seminars on those issues
- Managed a large client load of multiple Fortune 500 tax and audit clients operating in the manufacturing, retail, communications, restaurant, technology and hospitality sectors
