
Since starting his career as a tax practitioner, Josh has specialized in California income tax consulting and controversy matters, including California refund reviews and strategic refund claims, Franchise Tax Board (FTB) audit defense, protesting FTB assessments, settlement and closing agreement negotiations, and appeals before California’s administrative Office of Tax Appeals.
Beyond California-specific consulting, Josh has also handled a wide array of multistate income tax matters, including general income tax audit defense, large scale voluntary disclosure projects, ruling requests, nexus studies, and market-based sourcing studies.
From an industry perspective, Josh’s areas of focus include banking and financial services, insurance, investment management, and the media and entertainment sectors.
