
Michelle is a principal with Baker Tilly’s energy and infrastructure advisory practice, with more than 15 years of experience in the energy sector. Her career has focused on analysis and strategy around the nexus of business strategy, technology, and regulatory policy. She helps clients work through challenges balancing resilience, decarbonization and cost in energy portfolio development. Her work helps clients across commercial and industrial, and state, local, and federal governments tackle sustainable strategy development across operations, energy consumption and procurement and supply chains.
- Leader in critical energy issues and systems including renewables, distributed energy resources, microgrids, transactive energy/energy marketplaces, hydrogen and their interplay with energy economics, federal and state policy, and regulations and business.

- Managed the greenhouse gas accounting for more than 30 private equity portfolio companies, including scopes 1 and 2, along with strategic road maps for short and midterm emissions reduction
- Advised emerging energy companies engaged in new technology research and development on business strategy, market sizing, regulatory and policy impacts and market entry strategies for cutting-edge energy technologies. Technologies areas included high voltage grid hardware/software, energy storage and solar photovoltaic (PV)
- Capital stack optimization for energy and infrastructure projects including federal tax credits; federal and state grant and loan identification, application and administration and compliance
- Led owner’s engineer technical due diligence engagements focused on district energy distributed energy resources (including microgrids, combined heat and power, central utility plants, thermal and electrical energy storage, distributed solar, water and wastewater) and utility-scale renewables
