
Randy is a director with Baker Tilly’s risk advisory public sector practice. He brings more than 25 years of audit and consulting experience. Before joining Baker Tilly and a top 10 firm, he spent 20 years working for state government, holding various accounting and audit management positions, including director of internal audit for a large state agency and controller for a public university. He also worked in a state auditor’s office.
- Managed various internal audit, internal control, risk assessment and process improvement projects with more than 30 public sector clients across the country
- Clients have included state government, local government and K-12 schools
- Presented audit reports and investigations to audit committees, executive management, boards and city councils
- Served as chief audit executive for an internal audit outsource relationship
- Supervised or performed numerous fraud investigations and partnered with the FBI, state police and Office of the State Inspector General
- Trained in the Reid Technique of Interviewing and Interrogation, commonly used by law enforcement agencies
- Selected by the Governor of Virginia to serve on the Board of Regional Jails

- Association of Government Accountants (AGA)
- Delivered numerous CPE presentations or webinars across multiple states to audit and accounting organizations such as the IIA and AGA, including fraud and internal controls
