Bill Wong, principal with Baker Tilly joined the firm in 2004. He has been performing tax services since 1991, working with a diverse base of clients in the manufacturing and retail industries. As a Valued Business Advisor, Bill coordinates tax services and brings timely, value-added tax strategies and proactive tax planning advice to every engagement. In his more than twenty-five years of performing tax services, Bill has built deep relationships with his clients and their other advisors, creating value and long-term success for their businesses. Bill is also the lead International Services Partner for the Milwaukee office, aligning our clients’ global needs with our in-house service offerings and those of our Baker Tilly International affiliate network.
- Coordinates tax planning strategies and tax compliance services for privately held, private equity, and publicly traded clients
- Performs merger and acquisition due diligence and tax consulting for both buy-side and sell-side transactions
- Assists companies with worldwide tax planning including local country tax minimization, profit repatriation strategies, financing matters, cross-border transactions, and foreign tax credit planning
- Advises clients on tax implications of capital structure transactions including contributions to capital, financing transactions, recapitalizations, and leveraged buy-outs
- Coordinates and implements succession planning at privately held companies using various estate planning techniques
- Implements tax accounting method changes including inventory valuation changes
- Represents clients before the Internal Revenue Service and various state taxing authorities
- Reviews and assists clients looking to expand their business operations abroad through acquisition, investment, and/or joint venture
- Acts as an international services liaison to ensure successful completion of global projects for clients
