Spectrum Brand’s existing reporting software produced boring, static visuals that did not effectively communicate the scale of business issues or relationships between departments. They needed to produce more visually appealing analytics to show executives how the business was performing against plans.

Strategy and solution
Baker Tilly implemented a custom Power BI solution that took existing data sources and organized them into a series of visually appealing dashboards that provided an in-depth view of overall corporate performance compared with goals. Reports could now be organized by product categories, geographic regions or other criteria.
Company staff enthusiastically adopted the new dashboards to empower strategic planning. But the benefits of adopting Power BI extended beyond the planning department. When staff realized how multifunctional the program was, they found uses for many other departments.
