The business challenge
The client worked with Baker Tilly to develop a customized analytics road map. To continue growth, the client required a trusted advisor to execute the goals defined in the road map. Baker Tilly established a dedicated data analytics team to leverage new technologies and set up repeatable processes to support data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Strategy and solution
Baker Tilly consultants collaborated to establish a data analytics team and build a modern analytics platform from the ground-up, leveraging industry best practices and techniques, including:
- Establishing an analytics environment consisting of a cloud data warehouse with a dimensional data model to support analysis of key organizational performance metrics in the areas of sales, distributor growth, customer retention and lending
- Facilitating the development, testing and production environments to allow for rapid and secure design, build-out and promotion of core data elements to business users
- Managing discussions with the organization’s leaders on how to better understand and improve existing data and business processes by leveraging modern technologies and techniques
- Recommending a new team structure, assisting in recruitment efforts to fill roles and train team members on business and data-related tools
- Transitioning the data platform from Baker Tilly to the newly established data analytics team
