Client background
A large health system in South Florida that provides comprehensive healthcare services across multiple hospitals and clinics. The organization operates a diverse network of care sites and serves a broad patient population across the region.
The business challenge
As part of a major modernization initiative, the health system migrated its electronic health record (EHR) platform from Cerner to Epic. The scale of this project required a broad mix of certified Epic professionals across clinical, operational and technical areas. During the early stages of the implementation, the health system was introduced to Baker Tilly as an additional source of Epic-certified consultants. They engaged our team to supplement internal staff and strengthen the larger implementation effort, ensuring the project had the right resources in place for a smooth transition and on-time go-live.
Strategy and solution
Baker Tilly provided specialized Epic-certified consultants who quickly proved highly effective and well-aligned with the client’s needs. As the large-scale implementation progressed and additional demands emerged, our support expanded to a team of more than ten consultants embedded within the broader effort, contributing across build, testing and optimization activities.
The project achieved a successful go-live with no major delays, meeting the health system’s timeline. Stabilization post-go-live was managed effectively, and Baker Tilly consultants have continued to support the organization in rolling out new Epic functionality, including pharmacy and billing enhancements tied to hospital collaborations.
