Client background
A large not-for-profit delivering after-school programs in New York City, reaching thousands of students annually across 100+ schools in all five boroughs and Long Island, wanted to focus on bridging the opportunity gap in underinvested communities.
The business challenge
Rapid growth and a transformed operating structure led to multiple disconnected applications and spreadsheets managing daily operations. These data silos hindered accurate reporting and analysis, increased administrative effort and limited the organization’s ability to scale. Rising expectations for accountability and data-driven decision-making created the need for a centralized, scalable digital solution. In response, the organization engaged Baker Tilly to develop and implement a strategic Salesforce plan to centralize operations, streamline reporting and improve analytics.
Strategy and solution
Baker Tilly translated the organization’s goals into an executable solution that centralized operations and strengthened reporting and analytics capabilities. Salesforce was implemented to unify data, reduce administrative effort and standardize processes across all school sites. Previous undocumented workflows, managed via paper and Excel, were migrated into a single system to improve tracking of program operations, site performance and outcomes. The solution also included the design of complementary technology systems to support donations and fundraising events through Classy, as well as community engagement, human resources, partnerships, volunteers and compliance.
Outcomes:
- On-time, on-budget implementation, promoting efficiency through integrated solutions
- 9% growth in revenue through more targeted, data-driven outreach
- Enhanced visibility into program performance, enabling high-quality outcomes and scalable growth
Baker Tilly has completely transformed our organization, creating process, function and ultimately impact that is enabling our communities to be the best they can be… working with Baker Tilly was one of the best decisions we've made.
