Redwood ready: Elevating the HCM experience with Baker Tilly

Client background

A large Colorado-based provider of analog and radiation-hardened electronics for aerospace, defense and medical industries, known for its long-standing reputation for reliability and innovation, set its sights on an Oracle Redwood upgrade.  

Business challenge

The client committed to upgrading to Oracle’s new Redwood user experience. During initial planning, Baker Tilly identified several process improvement opportunities to align with the transition. The rollout strategy accounted for key business cycles, such as mid-year reviews and emphasized effective change management through clear communication and user adoption planning. 

Strategy and solution

As an existing Baker Tilly client, the company engaged the Oracle Solutions team to lead a comprehensive Redwood impact assessment and implementation. The engagement included a full evaluation of the current Oracle Cloud configuration, migration to Redwood and hands-on knowledge transfer to support long-term success. 

Baker Tilly transitioned multiple HCM modules from the responsive interface to Redwood: Core HR, Learning, Workforce Compensation, HR Help Desk and Talent Management (including Goal Management, Performance, Career Development, Talent Profiles, Talent Review, Succession Planning). 

The migration involved: 

• More than 100 profile option updates 
• 50 security enhancements 
• 40 structure tool modifications 
• 34 new Redwood business rules 

The transition to Oracle’s Redwood experience and business process enhancements introduced a modern, intuitive interface designed to improve usability, streamline workflows and enhance employee engagement. These updates are expected to support long-term operational goals by simplifying daily tasks and providing a more cohesive experience. With thorough knowledge transfer and active involvement throughout the project, the client team is now equipped to manage and evolve the solution independently.
