Client background
When disaster strikes, PuroClean steps in to make things right. Whether it’s water damage, fire restoration, storm cleanup or trauma scene remediation, their job is to help people put their homes, businesses and lives back together. “With a rapidly expanding footprint of 14 franchises spanning Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Green Bay, Knoxville and Milwaukee, Keegan Trudgen operates one of the largest and fastest-growing multi-location franchises in the PuroClean network.
“People call us when something’s gone terribly wrong,” says Keegan Trudgen, President and CEO within the PuroClean network. “Our job is to make it right — fast.”
However, a fast response takes more than field teams and equipment. It takes seamless data. That’s why Keegan’s organization runs on DASH by Cotality, a restoration management platform, and Sage Intacct for financials. When Baker Tilly came in to connect the two, the impact was immediate — and the results are ongoing.
The business challenge
One call, one connection “We were growing so quickly that we outgrew QuickBooks,” says Keegan. “We needed to take things to the next level and that meant upgrading our accounting software and making sure it connected with the rest of our operations.”
That’s when the team moved to Sage Intacct, and — critically — brought in Baker Tilly to integrate it with DASH by Cotality, the industry-specific job manager software relied on by field teams across the business.
From the first meeting, it was clear Baker Tilly knew the DASH ecosystem inside and out. “They’d done this before,” Keegan says. “We didn’t have to waste time getting them up to speed — they got it right away.” That fluency paid off in a streamlined project that minimized back-and-forth and delivered exactly what the business needed.
The integration connects financial data in Sage Intacct with job-level data in DASH, allowing accountants to work in one system and project managers to work in another, without duplicating effort or missing information.

Even better, the Baker Tilly team was able to configure the integration with added precision — mapping PuroClean’s unique accounts directly to DASH categories rather than relying on generic groupings. “That gave us more control and more granularity in our reports,” he adds.
Strategy and solution
From custom to catalyst
Initially built as a custom solution, DASH Integration proved so popular that Baker Tilly has since transformed it into a standard product available to others in the restoration industry. PuroClean is now transitioning to this new version — unlocking new enhancements and shared improvements while reducing complexity on the backend.
“I’m glad they’re doing this,” Keegan says. “It will save us money and make the whole thing more sustainable going forward. As they improve it, we benefit too. That’s a win.”
Built for growth
PuroClean’s expansion hasn’t slowed. Once operating in a single state, the company now spans five states and six major markets — and isn’t done yet. With plans to expand regionally, the move from QuickBooks to Sage Intacct focused not only on improved reporting but also on scalability for long-term growth.
“We’ve got multiple entities, different ownership structures, shared services, so we need a solution that can handle that,” Keegan says. “Now we can look across the whole organization or drill down into a specific job, all in one system. That’s powerful.”
And while the financials are stronger, so is the ability to serve customers.

An ally who understands the job
Keegan, an accountant by trade, is quick to praise Baker Tilly’s dual knowledge of both software platforms. “It never felt like we were dealing with someone who didn’t get it,” he says. “If there is ever an issue, we just call Baker Tilly. They understand both systems and can fix it without having to loop in five people.”
