Anthony Casey is a principal with Baker Tilly’s risk advisory practice.
Anthony has a strong background in leading and transforming risk and internal audit functions as well as managing complex engagements and key business initiatives. He has significant experience with both public and private companies. Anthony has deep technical experience in internal controls/SOX compliance, internal audit and enterprise risk management. With his extensive regional network, deep business and technical knowledge and reputation for hands-on leadership and integrity, Anthony focuses on building Baker Tilly’s risk practice in New York City and partnering across the firm to accelerate overall growth and continue to create an exceptional experience for our people.
- Spearheaded the risk and compliance workstream for a significant consumer health separation, working cross-functionally to manage compliance requirements by deploying innovative solutions to resolve complex matters with speed and precision; leading the risk and compliance model design for the spin focused on developing an integrated and cost-effective approach, which enables business performance and modernizes risk management capabilities
- Led global internal audit and controls co-sourcing and outsourcing engagements with large multinational organizations
- Performed risk assessments, developed audit and controls plans, directed comprehensive audit and controls activities and improved risk management practices; owned relationships with chief audit executives and partnered with them to create the case for change, enhance internal audit’s brand with the business, define strategic priorities, drive continuous improvement activities, and ensure their functions were meeting stakeholders’ needs

• Global manufacturer of inks and pigments – strengthened the control environment by overseeing the design and execution of the J-SOX program and internal audit plan and by focusing on building a sustainable controls conscious culture in close coordination with executive management and the internal audit governance body and risk committee
• Fortune 500 telecommunications and technology company – oversaw accelerated remediation efforts for an entity at significant risk of receiving multiple material weaknesses by educating key stakeholders, developing a rapid understanding of the company’s business model and key risks and designing practical internal controls in close coordination with the external auditors
• Fortune 100 conglomerate – performed a global controls optimization and rationalization exercises and supported GRC technology implementation to provide the company with greater efficiencies in their control frameworks through the use of automation, continuous monitoring and self-assessment techniques; increased global risk coverage and program effectiveness and reduced compliance costs
• Fortune 500 animal health company – worked with the chief audit executive to stand up and mature the company’s internal audit function post spin from a Fortune 100 pharmaceuticals company; managed overall co-sourcing arrangement by supporting functional leadership in performing the annual risk assessment and enabling the successful delivery of the audit plan through effective management of activities across the audit lifecycle
