Ben is a member of the firm’s professional services practice and is located in the D.C. office. He has been with the firm for more than 20 years, performing financial statement audits, reviews, compilations, employee benefit plan audits, internal control reviews and accounting advisory services.
- Experience managing and completing audit engagements of modified cash basis, income tax basis and U.S. GAAP financial statements across multiple industries, with a primary focus on law firms and other professional services businesses, as well as not-for-profit organizations
- Completing internal control and business process reviews, as well as consulting with clients to identify and implement best practices
- Consulting with clients on a variety of U.S. GAAP and modified cash basis accounting and financial reporting matters
- Performing full scope and limited scope employee benefit plan audits for plans ranging in size from less than $5 million in assets up to more than $5 billion in assets
- Experience auditing a diverse mix of employee benefit plan trust and investment arrangements, including large master trusts, alternative and hard-to-value investments, and self-directed brokerage accounts
- Consulting with clients on employee benefit plan accounting and compliance matters, including assistance with plan corrections and filings under the IRS Employee Plans Compliance Resolution System and the DOL Voluntary Fiduciary Correction Program
