As Baker Tilly’s chief operating officer, Chuck Droege collaborates with the CEO as well as regional, consulting, risk, growth and service line managing principals on all operational aspects of Baker Tilly. Joining Baker Tilly in 1999, Chuck has served in multiple roles throughout the years including leader of the firm’s Illinois team software and technology practice.
- Principal on reviews and audits of more than 20 large, professional services, software and technology consulting and retail businesses
- Principal-in-charge of more than 40 employee benefit plan audits including 401(k) plans, health and welfare plans and defined benefit plans
- Principal and pre-issuance reviewer of more than 10 large university audits
- Lead principal for a number of comprehensive bases of accounting audit engagements including modified cash basis, income tax basis, contract basis accounting and special purpose frameworks
- Principal-in-charge of annual special purpose framework audits for airport and aviation authorities throughout the United States
- Team leader for large Sarbanes Oxley Section 404 project
- Tax compliance experience including research, planning and preparation
- Assists clients with various bookkeeping services
- Specializes in serving closely held, middle market businesses
