Jeffrey Smith is a principal with Baker Tilly’s assurance practice. Jeffrey brings more than 15 years of professional accounting and auditing experience working with and advising global public enterprises and private growth companies and has a proven ability to manage and effectively lead through complex and constantly evolving environments. His specializations include:
- Public companies, including SEC and SOX 404 compliance requirements
- Real estate, including registered and non-registered investment companies, investment managers and real estate investment trusts
- Mortgage banking, including mortgage servicing, forward origination, reverse origination and REO management
- Homebuilding, including, but not limited to, mortgage, title and asset management businesses
- Member of Baker Tilly’s National Office and Consultation network and provides technical accounting and audit advisory services to clients and other Baker Tilly engagement teams
- Works with public and non-public real estate and financial service organizations to implement control frameworks including Section 404 of the SOX Act of 2022
- IPO and SPAC requirements
