Josh Hedrick is a principal with Baker Tilly’s forensic, litigation and valuation services practice. He is a skilled and experienced business appraiser, having worked on more than 1,000 appraisals over nearly 20 years. Josh assists attorneys, investors, c-suite executives and financial institutions in determinations of value.
Josh’s practice is focused on determinations of economic damages and valuations of businesses, financial instruments, and intellectual property in contentious settings including arbitration, mediation, settlement negotiation, and trial. Josh has been retained as a financial expert in more than 100 matters across a wide range of industries including healthcare, finance, manufacturing, entertainment, transportation, technology, life sciences, retail, distribution and real estate.
Josh is frequently featured at corporate and legal industry events as a guest speaker and educator on topics related to valuation, marital dissolution, personal goodwill and economic damages.
- Frequently retained in marital dissolution matters to apprise business and financial interests and intellectual property
- Submitted hundreds of appraisals for tax purposes in gift, estate and charitable contribution matters
- Provided expert testimony in depositions, arbitrations and trials
- Provided purchase price allocations and fairness opinions for venture and private equity backed acquisitions and for transactions involving publicly traded companies
- Prepared valuations of personal goodwill for transactions, shareholder disputes and marital dissolution purposes
- Previously led a transaction advisory practice providing financial due diligence including quality of earnings
- Prior to shifting to valuation in 2007, Josh began his professional career as a lender and licensed financial advisor with a major American diversified financial services company
