Michelle Winkleman is managing director of Baker Tilly’s not-for-profit practice. She serves both public and private clients, specializing in healthcare, real estate and not-for-profits. Prior to joining Baker Tilly, Michelle spent seven years at multinational firms, mainly serving healthcare clients, and three years at a small firm serving clients in a variety of industries.
- Serves healthcare organizations, including hospital systems, academic medical centers, behavioral health, physician groups and specialty hospitals and clinics
- Experience serving the real estate industry, including multifamily, Section 8, HUD reporting and REAC filing
- Performs financial statement analysis and communicates results through reports and presentations to management, audit committees and boards
- Manages internal control consulting engagements, identifying process improvements and control deficiencies and communicating of findings to management, audit committees and boards
- Conducts Uniform Guidance audits, including compliance testing and communication of findings to management
- Conducts employee benefit plan audits, including both defined contribution and defined benefit plans
- Delivers other assurance services, including auditing purchase accounting, valuation of pharmaceutical compounds, adoption of new accounting guidance and other special transactions
