Paul Nash is a managing director with Baker Tilly’s forensic, litigation and valuation services practice. He has extensive experience in leading complex, cross-border government-focused corruption investigations in emerging and frontier markets, and he has recently led publicly reported investigations in Liberia and Mozambique. Paul has broad experience of working with international financial institutions, international development agencies and global corporations to develop and implement pragmatic remediation strategies to address fraud and corruption risks.
Paul has more than 20 years of experience undertaking global investigations into fraud and corruption allegations and leading anti-corruption compliance reviews for a wide range of clients. He has worked across several industries with specific expertise in advising government clients in emerging markets and corporates operating in the life sciences, oil and gas and mining sectors for sensitive matters relating to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and U.K. Bribery Act. Paul commenced his career in the British military services, investigating allegations of crime in the U.K. and the Middle East. He continued working for the U.K. Government as a financial investigator, co-managing the formation of a specialist anti-money laundering unit to investigate cases predicated by tax evasion.
Prior to joining Baker Tilly, Paul worked in the forensic accounting team of a global professional services firm, where he developed extensive experience carrying out multi-jurisdiction fraud investigations and anti-corruption reviews across Latin America, the Middle East and Africa, including an 18-month investigation for a World Bank sanctioned global engineering and construction group.

- Led an independent forensic audit into undisclosed loans totaling $2 billion USD contracted by three Mozambique state owned enterprises
- Led an independent compliance review on behalf of a global pharmaceutical company that had been debarred by an international intergovernmental organization
- Led an independent investigation on behalf of a London education provider regarding the potentially undervalued sale of a significant asset to a local council
- Led a financial investigation on behalf of a Middle East construction company regarding the fraudulent award of procurement contracts
- Led a financial investigation on behalf of a Mediterranean precious metals company regarding the fraudulent sale of gold bullion
- Led a joint U.K./Middle East team to conduct an anti-corruption compliance assessment for a global engineering and construction group client
- Led an FCPA/Bribery Act anti-corruption compliance assessment in six countries for a global telecommunications company
- Led a joint U.S./U.K. team to perform an anti-corruption compliance assessment for a global pharmaceutical genetics company to assess the client’s compliance with the FCPA
- Led a fraud investigation for a global life sciences company in Kenya, Yemen, Belarus and India
- Led a team to investigate potential breaches of sanctions regulations at a global bank
- Led a joint U.K./Russian team investigating allegations of fraud at an international oil and gas company, and separately, at an international engineering solutions company
- Seconded to a global life sciences company for eighteen months to manage the design and implementation of the company’s global anti-corruption program and to lead several bribery and corruption investigations
- Proficient external speaker, with several presentations delivered to senior audiences from the International Monetary Fund and World Bank on investigative work. Also delivered several presentations on the U.K. Bribery Act and enforcement trends to external audiences.
