Founded in 1979, Flatfish is a family-owned company. Over the decades, Flatfish has developed into one of the UK's leading independent fish processing companies, operating a multi-million-pound business from a modern processing facility at the largest center of fish processing in Europe.
The business challenge
Parent company Nissui purchased specialist seafood processor, Flatfish and quickly looked to replace an ageing ERP system. The goal was to deliver the IFS Applications 10 installation and implementation at Flatfish and migration of Caistor in 12 weeks.
Strategy and solution
Baker Tilly realized Flatfish was using an old system that was limited in what it could do. Caistor had been using IFS Applications 7 for 12 years and wanted to have the latest version, IFS Applications 10. Our experienced consultants moved Flatfish on to IFS Applications 10 and then migrated Caistor to the same version at a later date. Baker Tilly had a huge on-site presence that was able to promptly address Flatfish’s concerns and questions.
As a result, Flatfish has utilized IFS to make business improvements in every area of the Flatfish business, from manufacturing to supply chain, finance and costing.
